Elkhorn Springs
Plans for Phase II have been submitted for review and approval. The Architectural Design Committee will review the plans during the April 13, 2005 meeting. Phase II includes two multi-story condominium buildings; one 18 unit building and one 22 unit building. Also included in Phase II is the temporary relocation of the Elkhorn Post Office. The plans show that the temporary post office structure will be located on the Sunshine parcel.

Phase I has started picking up momentum with the early spring weather. Work on the infrastructure has begun and will continue through early summer. There will be temporary road closures from spring to early summer. Each closure will last approximately 3 weeks. During this process there will always be access to the Village.

Work will begin on the restaurant, country store, and sales office by mid June. The work on the restaurant and country store requires that the Village pond be drained. The pond will remain empty at least through the fall.

The Elkhorn Golf Clubhouse is approximately 70% complete. A grand opening for the new Clubhouse and the newly renovated golf course is scheduled for July 4th.

Sun Villa
A Joint-Venture agreement between Blackacre and CG Elkhorn closed last week. Dave Hennessy, project manager for Elkhorn Springs, has informed us that they are in the preliminary planning stages of what may be developed on this property.

Board Members Wanted
There are several Board of Director’s positions that will be vacated in December. If you would like to serve as a board member we want to hear from you. Applications will be available on the SVEA website on April 8th. The application may be filled out on-line and e-mailed. Or, if you prefer, feel free to contact our administrative office for an application. Applications must be received by August 1, 2005 for consideration.

Community/Workforce Housing
The City of Sun Valley is working on the valley’s first Community/Workforce Housing Ordinance. The first of three public readings was held on March 24th. These ordinances will impact all construction projects in the City of Sun Valley and in Elkhorn that are 1000 square feet or larger. Generally the public seems to be in support of the new ordinances. The draft ordinances are posted on the City of Sun Valley’s website
www.sunvalley.govoffice.com

Sun Valley Dark Sky Ordinance
We wanted to remind our Elkhorn owners that the compliance date for the City’s dark sky ordinance is January 2006. If you would like a copy of the ordinance it is posted on the City of Sun Valley’s website. Their address is www.sunvalley.govoffice.com

Seasonal Lighting Reminder
Please remember that March 15 was the last day that your seasonal lighting was allowed. We ask if you have not done so, that you please arrange to turn off your lighting until next November. Failure to do so may result in a violation notice being sent.

Tennis
With the warm weather we have been having it won’t be long before the tennis courts are clear of snow. We will have several courts cleaned and nets up as soon as weather allows. Bill Van Deinse will be returning in mid May for his 16th year as the SVEA Tennis Pro. For tennis information please call:

Harker Courts 208-622-9281
Village Courts 208-622-5535

Trash Cans
Please be sure your trash cans are properly stored. They must be screened from view and should not be on the street except on the day of trash pick up. If you are an out of town owner please make arrangements to have your trash cans properly stored. A trash can stored in view of adjoining properties may constitute a violation.

Road Work
The City of Sun Valley will be implementing a cement reinforced asphalt base stabilization (CRABS) process. The CRABS process will consist mainly of processing or grinding the existing asphalt, adding cement, and compacting that mixture into a new base. Then a new layer of asphalt will be laid out over the base material for a new and smooth road.

Paintbrush Rd. from Morningstar Rd. to the cul-de-sac is the only road in Elkhorn the City will redo this summer. The City plans to start the project on May 1st with an expected completion date of June 30th.

Summer Membership Meeting and Barbecue
Included with your statement is the RSVP for our Summer Barbecue. The membership meeting will be held on Friday, July 8, 2005 at 5:30 p.m., with the barbecue immediately following. We hope you can attend to receive the latest updates on the many important issues facing your community and to spend an enjoyable evening with your friends and neighbors. Please respond no later than June 24th, 2005.
