John ("Jack") Haase
I live in Fairway Nine II Townhomes during the summer and winter and have been coming to Sun Valley since 1948 and I said at the time I would live here one day. In the off season I live in Scottsdale, AZ. I have been a member of the Fairway Nine II board for a number of years and am currently the president. I have also been on the board of a HOA in Portland and was active on a committee in an HOA in Scottsdale.  In addition I was on the SVEA board for 6 years and president for two years (1994 - 1999).

I was a Navy Fighter pilot on active duty and served in the reserves ending as a Navy Captain after 21 years. I worked for Boise Cascade Corporation for 32 years in various positions being a senior vice president when I retired.  During my tenure with BC I was involved in sales, manufacturing, International General Manager for the paper business and finally responsible for Engineering/Construction, Research and Purchasing.

With three friends, we started 7/11 of Alaska and built it to an 80 store business in five years and later sold it to Tesoro.  

After leaving Boise I volunteered to work in the Czech Republic for three years assisting a Paper Company emerge out of the Velvet Revolution under Vaclav Havel the Czech President. I also was a contract employee for a Canadian Engineering firm representing them on the board of a joint venture Engineering Company in Chile, and worked with them in Brazil, Indonesia and Thailand.
